Learning debate is not about arguing; it’s about training your mind to think quickly and logically, giving yourself the ability to express your ideas clearly!
This camp is specially designed for 4th to 6th-grade students, introducing them to the fundamentals of debate and argumentation. Participants will explore the basics of public forum debate, learn how to structure their thoughts, refute arguments, and express their assertions with clarity.
Through engaging games and mini-debates, students will ignite their passion for debate while having fun! Join us and let language become your power!
Instructor: Daniel Xu
Daniel Xu is an 11th-grade student at Leland High School. As a language enthusiast, Daniel is proficient in four language and has qualified for the North America Computational Linguistics Olympiad (NACLO) Invitationals. He has been a member of the Leland High School debate team for nearly three years, gaining extensive practical experience. Additionally, Daniel Has served as a Math Tutur, a Chinese Kung Fu Teaching Assistant (TA) and an English-speaking coach both inside and outside of school. He excels at communicating with younger students and has extensive experience as a tutor and TA.
