Music Production

(For students entering Grades 5 and above)

In the music production class, students will learn how to use computer software to digitally create enjoyable songs. Starting from fundamental music theory, students are expected to create their own music in the first week. They will continue to improve their skills and sound with new design concepts in the second week. In addition to a variety of western music, students will also be able to produce their Asian or Chinese style folk music. In the end, they will showcase their skill in a final project for a demo to their parents.

Requirements:

No music knowledge is required. Students needs to bring his/her own laptop, ideally with headphone. Free software is available.

Schedule:

Session 1: 6/09/25 – 6/13/25, M – F, 9:00AM-12:00PM

Session 2: 6/16/25 – 6/20/25, M – F, 9:00AM-12:00PM

Session 3: 6/23/25 – 6/27/25, M – F, 9:00AM-12:00PM

Instructors: Andrew Qian

Andrew is a 11th grader at Los Gatos High School and the president of the music production club there. He started playing piano and learning music theory at six years old, and he first started digital music production at eight. He loves technology and volunteers for the “Tech & Teens” program at the Los Gatos Senior Recreation center. He has been at Enlighten since he was five years old and also a Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award winner as a result of volunteering here.
