(Grade 5+ )
In the first part of the camp, students will learn how to use Arduino parts combined with coding to finish couple guided fun projects. After students have the basic knowledge, they will shift gears to design projects in groups using information that they have learned. Students will be given the opportunity to experience the excitement of the whole engineering process – brainstorming, designing, building, and troubleshooting their own products. Through the camp, students not only will gain engineering experiences with real products to bring home, but also will develop their innovational potential and interest, improve their teamwork skills, problem solving strategies and many other lifelong benefits.

Instructor: Phillip Peng
Phillip Peng is a Senior at UCSB studying Electrical Engineering. He is very lucky to find his interest in engineering since he was very young. Through his high school years, he sought every possible opportunity to share his passion with others. He has years of experience teaching middle schoolers the basics of the engineering process and product design. He also has many years of volunteering experience as Teacher Assistant and Captain for various summer camps. He enjoys his time working with young ones. Some interests that he has are Rubik’s cubing and robotics.
