Enlighten Chinese New Year Celebration- Chongqing Cultural Troupe Performance

A group of artists from Chongqing Cultural Troupe came to Enlighten to perform with our students on Thursday Jan. 23rd. “Face Off”, four traditional Chinese dances and two dances from our Enlighten dance class were performed.

老师留言: 我们四年级的学生最近正在自发组织做一件非常有意义的事情。他们号召全校的小朋友,一起来把家里多余的铅笔,橡皮,小文具,废旧的杂志等拿出来捐给学校。让我们从小学会珍惜地球的资源,保护环境,关爱陪我们成长的学校。 我们的学校在开学初就为学生准备了充足的学习用品,方便他们做作业,画画,做手工。因为现在物质生活实在太丰富了,有些孩子已经不懂得节约。我们经常发现地上有半截的铅笔没人捡被踩了,橡皮被抠的碎碎的不能再用了。我们学校四年级的TA小老师在每天帮他们削铅笔准备文具的时候发现这个浪费的现象,他就写个张纸条贴在教室的墙上。结果在班里引起了极大的反响,很多小朋友真从家里把扔来扔去的半截铅笔,半块橡皮都找来了,我们班上的公用文具盒一下子就满了。学生们意识到铅笔是树做成的,省一支铅笔就是在帮助保护一棵树。这时我们班的刘加宜和陈珮明两位同学想做更大的poster,让更多的人知道这件事,来参与这件事。她们的行为得到了校长的支持,全班同学都非常乐于一起来做这件有意义又有趣的事,大家一起准备poster一起准备演讲,要让学校的其它小朋友一起来从最小的事做起,做一个有责任心,有爱心的人。 我们老师看到这些学生的成长非常的欣慰,在这儿也希望得到你们家长的理解和支持。让我们共同努力,把孩子培养成一个真正对社会有价值的人。 学生留言: Bill- 我们要帮助地球。我们的学校好玩,我们学中文,英文,数学, 我们也学环保。 许立平:启明中文学校是很好的学校,如果可以捐一些你们不用的东西,对我们的学校有好处,对我们地球更有好处。 刘亦舒:帮助地球是很重要的,当你捐不用的铅笔时候,你会对地球有好处。这对于我们启明中文学校的学生很有帮助。 威廉:我们的全校学生来帮助地球,我们捐铅笔,减少被砍的树木。 张嘉琪:Our school is fun and our program is meaningful and it saves trees. Enlighten Chinese Words Contest, Oct. 30th 2013

  Our students did a great job at the Chinese Words Contest on Oct. 30th! Each of the students had opportunities to show his/her ability to recognize many Chinese words, even some challenge ones they haven’t learned yet. Surely, they were very excited to have a contest and loved sharing it with their parents.
